What is MOMS Club?

MOMS ClubŪ (MOMS Offering Moms Support) is an international non-profit support group organization specifically designed for at-home mothers who are interested in the world around them and want a variety of activities for themselves and their children. We include mothers of all ages, as well as those who work out of their homes or part-time. Mothers of any age children are welcome! And you don't have to leave the group when your children enter school! We know you still need support as your children grow!

The MOMS Club of Coweta South is just one of four MOMS Club chapters serving Coweta County. The chapters are designated by geographic boundaries. MOMS Club of Coweta South serves residents from Lower Fayetteville Road to the Coweta/Troup County Line (Bradbury Road), between I-85 and Hwy 154. If you do not live within these boundaries, please visit www.momsclub.org and click on "Find A Chapter Near You".

What kinds of things does the MOMS Club do?

We plan and host monthly events and activities for mothers and their children, including – but not limited to - the following:

  • Weekly age-appropriate playgroup meetings hosted at local venues or member’s homes
  • Trips to local attractions
  • Mom’s Night Out & Luncheon’s
  • Chapter business meetings
  • Holiday parties
  • Perform one Service Project each year to assist children and/or families in need in our community
  • Publish a newsletter containing chapter news as well as local public events

The best way to find happiness in MOMS Club is to become involved and active in the various activities that appeal to you and your child as well as serving in a leadership role within the organization. Our chapter is open to new ideas and activities; thus members are strongly encouraged to share suggestions with the board. Each mom will determine how much she and her child will participate.

Playgroups provide your children with consistent playmates of about the same age and can help them develop social skills. They can also give you regular contact with other moms to build friendships and offer support. We strive to provide a variety of playgroups to meet everyone’s needs. However, if there is not an established playgroup that suits you and your child, please start one.

 MOMS Club Goals & Principles:

Goals:

  • To provide a support group for mothers who choose to stay at home to raise their children
  • To provide a forum for topics of interest to mothers
  • To help children in the community
  • To perform at least one service project yearly helping needy children

 Principles:

  • That women must be free to choose their personal path to fulfillment
  • That, for women who choose it, raising children is an important and fulfilling full-time job
  • That a family's decision for a mother to stay at home to raise the children often involves considerable financial sacrifice
  • That there is no one right way to raise children, but our members have a common concern in raising their children in a healthful way

How much are membership dues?

We know being an at-home mother today means making a financial sacrifice, so dues to our local chapter is only $20 per year! The dues cover our chapter event and operating expenses. Like the international organization, the MOMS Club of Coweta South is a nonprofit corporation and a 501 (C) (3) publicly-supported charity registered with the IRS. The monies collected by our chapter are exclusively for our programs, projects and activities. All officers and coordinators are volunteers. In the event that membership dues are a hardship for your family, please contact a board member who will propose to the board reducing or waiving the fee.
